Students in the Field Camera Certification Course will be introduced to the Sony HXR-MC2000U digital video camera and peripherals. This class will emphasize proper field camera techniques. Students will learn how to operate both the automatic and manual controls of the Sony HXR-MC2000U camera, the principles of basic shot composition, natural lighting, and sound recording in the field. Students will shoot in the field on Saturday. Upon completion of this class, students become Certified “Akakū Field Producers”.

Cost: $185 Non-APA or $150 APA

Recertification/Class Retake or Student Rates: $75

Equivalency Exam Available: Cost $85 Non-APA or $50 APA (Schedule with Education Director)

Class offered every other month.

Class Days & Hours: 2Days x 3Hours + Saturday Field Day of 6 Hours = 12 Class Hours Total

Class Limits: 9Max/3Min

*Requirements: Must volunteer on 2 Akaku production field shoots & complete Introduction to Public Access class to Certify!

Certification allows you to check-out field equipment for use on non-commercial productions to air on Akaku cbale channels!
