Akakū holds quarterly Salons and Workshops that supplement the education program. On the last Friday of each month (from 6pm to 8pm), Akakū hosts “Producers Night”, which offers community producers and participants a monthly opportunity to connect with one another, meet potential collaborators, and to address their wishes for the future of Akakū in an open forum with their peers and counterparts. “Producers Night” is free for participants, but donations are always welcome!
Akakū also holds every other month workshop sessions featuring a guest speaker series that offers specialized lessons or ideas that may be based outside of the scope of the basic Akakū education program, but are still pertinent to creating effective content. Keep an eye on the Education Calendar to catch these one-time-offered courses. These events are available at low-cost and open to the public.
